California Career Resource Network

The California Career Resource Network (CalCRN) is a California state agency that was established to create career exploration resources for Californians.   CalCRN's home page contains links to a variety of free online resources.

CalCRN has two primary FREE online resources available to anyone at anytime they can get online. The California CareerZone  provides users with three self-assessment tools that link to 900 occupational profiles.

The California Reality Check allows users to build an adult life budget in one of 20 California cities, decide how much education they want to complete, choose an industry sector to work in and then see how many occupations will pay what their budget demands.

Reality Check

CalCRN also created and distributes the California Career Planning Guide (CCPG), though created as a low cost hard copy resource, a free online pdf version of the CCPG Second Edition will be available in August 2008. The current 2003-05 pdf is available online.
