Pass It On Student Mentoring Program

The Pass It On Student Mentoring Program will be launched September 11th, 2008.   In this program older students will mentor younger students in  particular hobby or subject that is of interest to both parties.
It is imperative that the parents and grandparents set precedence first however - We cannot ask our youth to be doing something that the parents and grandparents are not doing themselves.  For more information go to
Pay It Forward Student Mentoring Program.

100 years from now it won^t make any difference how much money I had in the bank, or what kind of huse I lived in, or what kind of car I drove, but if I made a difference in the life of a child, that could go on for generations".

   Volunteer Opportunities:
              Get Involved

The Pepperdine Volunteer Center offers a variety of ways to get involved in service during your time at Pepperdine.  Each of the ongoing volunteer programs is focused on a particular social issue such as hunger & homelessness, education & literacy, wellness, the environment, and advocacy.  When volunteering with an ongoing program you can expect to work at one particular non-profit organization in our community weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.  Each program is led by a student program coordinator who will provide overall guidance for the volunteers.

Now in its 5th year, the PVC's Jumpstart program pairs 100 Pepperdine students with pre-school students in local area Head Start centers.  Students volunteer a total of 300 hours in one academic year and earn their work-study award in the process.

One-time service events are held throughout the year to provide students, staff, faculty, and alumni with short term opportunities to serve.  Each service event is unique and offers participants a meaningful way to connect with a variety of service organizations in our community.

Project Serve, Pepperdine's alternative spring break program sends teams of students to locations within the United States and South & Central America to provide volunteer service.  Project Serve applications are accepted September through early October.
