Our goal is for every student to have an opportunity to have a mentor and to be a mentor!

The Pass It Forward (PIF) Student Mentoring Program is a school program to help empower students and help each and every one of them realize that they can make a positive difference in others lives.
All students interested in participating in a PIO Student Mentoring Program are asked to pick one subject in which they can mentor a younger student. Could it be with math? Reading? At the same time, students will state in which area they would like to be mentored by an older student.
Mentors and Proteges are then matched up with students and corporate sponsors. Many students will participate as mentors as well as mentees.
At each session the mentors and the proteges may play a board game, catrd game, crossword puzzle games, acting out games, truth or dare games all steered towards acts of kindness, building character values and passing it on. Additionally, the mentors and the proteges will each have a workbook with fun exercises designed to help build confidence.
In an after-school setting, we anticipate the first hour from 3:00 - 4:00 pm will be a combination of helping with homework, playing the Mentoring Connection Game and playing other games to help build each otehrs confidence while working in their workbooks..
The 2nd hour from 4:00 - 5:00 pm will be a time when all of the mentors and mentees in a classroom will get together for a group presentation and fun exercises pertaining to that weeks theme.

We are anticipating the Pass It Forward Student Mentoring Program to launch in September of 2009 in elementary schools, middle schools and high schools.
What we have found is that when you match up students where one excels and the other needs help, although they are only one year apart in a certain grade, they my be two or three years apart in a certain subject.
"There have always been three groups of popular kids in school - It seems that if you are smart, athletic or good looking you may be one of those popular kids. However, I believe we can create a fourth group of popular kids and that is a group that is the students and are performing acts of kindness, and accepting of others."

We will raise money through school auctions or acquire corporate sponsors for the Pass it Forward Student Mentoring Program, to help raise funds for this after school program. The corporate sponsors will receive advertising from multiple organizations. An example would be Steve’s Automotive is helping the XYZ Middle School Pass It Forward. Click here for sample web page.
It is anticipated that the Pass It Forward Student Mentoring Program will eventually be in many schools nationwide.
Our goal is that down the road our kids in America will be mentoring the kids in the third world countries on their $100 laptops! One Laptop Per Child.

Both the mentor and the proteges self esteem will be enhanced at each session. This will result in an increase in attendance, higher test scores, and lower the disciplinary problems within the school. Participants communication skills have proven since 1989 to build charater and self confidence to last a lifetime. See game book.
To play The mentoring Connection Game, players spin a spinner that they made together. The base of the spinner will have a picture of the mentor and protege. As they move around the board they answer questions in one of five categories. To see questions from the Mentoring Connection Game.
