The Taproot Foundation and the Pro Bono Action Tank - The Taproot Foundation's mission is to strengthen nonprofits by engaging business professionals in service. Since 2001, Taproot Foundation's Service Grant program has provided more than $44 million in pro bono services to more than 800 nonprofits across the country which, in turn, serve over 19 million Americans in need. The Pro Bono Action Tank was (PBAT) established by the Taproot Foundation in 2008 to lead the effort to increase access to high-quality pro bono services for public benefit organizations working to address our society's social, environmental and economic issues. PBAT works academic, trade and business leaders to enable the business community to engage in pro bono service, develop standards to ensure high-quality service delivery, and make it easier for all public benefit organizations to access the expertise they need to achieve their missions.
