Help Others Network & Accomplish Their Goals with Character And Compassion

There’s a movement gaining momentum everyday and it’s global! It’s about mentoring, inspiring, and empowering one another to realize we can all make a positive difference; simply by passing on kind acts and good deeds.
Sample letter below from a Calabasas resident holding her very first PIF event.
Dear Friends,
Just recently, I became involved in the EmpowerLA & the Pass It Forward (PIF) Movement in West Los Angeles. PIF has helped me create my own program called Evelyn’s Acts of Kindness Program which you can now access on my new free web page www.aunitedworld.org/evelyn.asp.
The beauty of this type of volunteer work for our community has many benefits. First, I am volunteering my time and doing exactly what I want to be doing, when I want to be doing it. Two, I am receiving immediate gratification from my friends which really makes me feel good. Three, I now have my own personal online mentor that is always there to help me accomplish my goals and get what I want. Furthermore, my volunteer EmpowerLA Mentor helps connect me to other like minded people that also want to make a difference under their own terms and conditions.
I highly recommend you set up a “30 minute pass it forward mentor chat challenge” with my mentor Arlan Berglas. You can read about how this volunteer mentoring program works by going to www.aunitedworld.org and send him an email at aunitedworld@gmail.com to set up a 30 minute chat.
I will be holding my very first PIF meeting at my home on Tuesday December 29th at 7:30 PM. I hope you can make it!
The Concept:
A PIF Mentor invites some neighbors into their living room. The host of this PIF event asks their friends to look at the 100 Ways To Pass It Forward - The friends are then asked to choose one way (in their heart) and your volunteer mentor will help you find 99 other like minded people or organizations and help introduce everyone to each other.
Every PIF Mentor will have their own website (www.aunitedworld.org) to go along with their own web page. (www.aunitedworld/youridea.asp) The "A United World" website will provide all of the tools necessary to implement your idea so you can make a difference on your street, or in your neighborhood!
A PIF Mentor will help the neighbors (L.O.V.E.) - Learn their purpose, Organize their passion, Volunteer their gift and Engage their heart. Ultimately, all the people attending this event will soon be PIF Mentors too!
In order for a PIF Mentor to put together a successful event, the mentor will walk their protege (mentee) through each step and provide you all the free resources needed.
PIF Event Details:
Guest Sign in
Make sure everyone signs in. Wait a few minutes to let everyone arrive before starting.
Welcome from Host
Introduce yourself and share your story. What inspired you to get involved in thi PIF Even? Tell why you have decided to host? Talk about helping another like minded person get what they wanted. What were the results?
Group Introductions
Have everyone introduce themselves and share their story about what inspired them to get involved. Get to know each other – Although you may be doing completely different tasks, you may be spending important time collaborating on how to help make West Los Angeles a better community.
People Helping People
Ask all your attendees to participate in the 100 Ways To Pass it Forward. Settle on a time and place to meet before you set up the next PIF Event.
In Closing
Thank guests for coming and ask them if they would like you to help them (as their volunteer mentor) find their purpose, passion and put it into action. This exercise will be carried out one-on-one with your guest at another time that is convenient for both people. In the meantime, the guest may want to answer a few questions and send the host their mission statement.
Step 1: Register your Event
Take a moment to register your event online. Posting your own PIF event online means you can get your own web page for your event, invite others to your event, track RSVPs and send details and reminders to your guests.
Remember, make your event searchable if you'd like to allow supporters to RSVP. Make your event unsearchable if you wish only to invite friends and family.
Step 2: Invite Friends, Neighbors, and Colleagues.
Start with people you know. Think about friends, family, colleagues and neighbors. Aim to invite a couple dozen people to your event, and try to ensure you have at least 10 -15 guests.
You may also want to reach out to your larger community. You can create your own event flyers and post them at your local coffee shop, grocery store, or library.
Encourage all of your guests to RSVP for your event so you know how many people to expect. Also, don’t forget to send an email to all of your guests a day or two before the event to remind everyone of the event’s details.
Step 3: Get your Materials in Order
Sign-in Sheets
Have all your guests sign in.
Issue Flyers
Think about printing out flyers detailing the PIF Activities.
Congratulations!
It’s people like you who make West Los Angeles so wonderful! Tell your story to Good Morning America.
